In order to verify how the Chinese learners comprehend and use these expressions, the\npaper takes example of “nanka” and conducts an investigation on database and questionnaire. The\nresult suggests that Chinese learners use the expression “nanka” quiet differently from native Japanese. An detailed analysis of every usage of “nanka” reveals the discovery: There’s a Chinese\nequivalent,“什麼”, of “nanka” when it is used as pronouns. Therefore, Chinese learners have no difficulty in using “nanka” as pronouns. However, when “nanka” is used as adverbial particles and\nintroductory remarks, there’s no such equivalent in Chinese.
